So, how have you been? We’ve been busy watching the awesome makeup tutorials on how to contour your face these few days and just have to show you the fabulous videos. Not everyone is born with chiseled faces and high cheekbones. So the most painless way to enhance your face is to do contouring. Feel free to follow the tutorials if you want to try your hand at face contouring. If you don’t feel the need to, that’s cool. Just watching these ladies put their makeup on can be a bit addictive! To get you excited, take a look at these before and after shots.
To keep things simple for you, we’ve selected contouring tutorials which use powder instead of liquid. It’s much easier to tweak or build on with powder than liquid/cream. Brisbane Makeup Professional Maria Rivera says, “When doing contouring, be careful to stick to one medium. If you’re using powder, stick to powder. If you’re using cream stick to cream to ensure a nice effect”. Kim Kardashian uses cream/liquid so if you have experience with that, feel free to use cream/liquid instead of powder.
What you would generally need:
Prepare your face by concealing and applying foundation as well as setting with loose powder. If you use compact foundation, you don’t need loose powder anymore.
Contouring brush, big fluffy brush, blusher brush
Face contouring for rich tones
We love how clear and easy Itsmyrayeraye makes her tutorial. Check this one out.
Face contouring for fair tones (lite contouring)
Here’s a tutorial by TheMakeupChair also using powder. This tutorial is great if you want to try lite contouring to gently enhance the curves on your face.
More face contouring tips
Here’s a contouring tutorial by From Head To Toe. We love how she explains the entire process really well.

When Wondermika editor, Mel, was at Cosmopolitan, she spent most days attending fashion shows and press conferences. At these events, she is joined by other fashion editors, stylists and industry insiders. So, dressing sloppy is a no-no, unfortunately. Layering and mix and match becomes important when there is just so much outfits you can own. Do you sometimes feel like you don’t know how else to style your outfits? Meet Miroslava Duma (if you haven’t already). This former Bazaar fashion editor is one of the top fashionistas in Russia. And we can guarantee that she goes out to attend heaps of stylish events. With the world watching her every move, Miroslava or also known as Mira Duma ensures that her styling is immaculate. We purposely chose her for this style note as more people can probably relate to her, being not as tall as the other Russian fashionistas such as Elena Perminova. Mira is also the queen of layering and you’ll see it for yourself in the looks we’ve picked out for you. Also, try to spot her repeats where she rocks the same pieces through fabulous styling. Enjoy the read!
This time she wears the same skirt with a white cape which softens her look. The same black chunky platforms complete her ensemble again. She lets her hair down for a more relaxed look.
Do as Miroslava as she turns an edgy plaid top into a classic ensemble by adding a tan leather skirt. See how she repeats this same skirt with a different top below. Her Hermes Kelly bag seals the deal and this petite fashionista balances off her look with fine pointed toe shoes.
A side shot of Miroslava in her plaid skirt. A tulip wrap is great for petite figures.
If you think leather on leather is too much, think again. Miroslava cleverly ‘lightens’ her look by pairing her burgundy leather skirt and cape with a peachy nude top and nude high heels. And we can’t argue that the Hermes Kelly bag is just so right for this look!
If you feel that a leather cape isn’t your style, try this look. Miroslava brings it down a notch by just wearing a nude top with leather pants. She keeps her wristlet for good balance. With all that leather, red lips add a pop of colour.
Look at how she cleverly balances her pleated leather skirt with a sleek nude top and nude pointed shoes. This is the same nude top she paired with the burgundy skirt above. And she has worn this same pleated skirt with the plaid top above. Mira also repeats her pointed shoes. We’re loving her Constance bag! Again, sleek hair helps pull the look together.
So we’re looking at this shot again where Miroslava wears her full length leather coat. She cleverly accessorises with white shoes and a quirky clutch in black and white. Her red lips seal the look making it glamorous.
We swear that this Chanel Perfume Bottle Clutch has been stalking us! Love, love, love! It makes a perfect accessory for Miroslava’s black ensemble. She finishes off with black and white pumps. This time, she keeps her makeup nude.
You can never go wrong with black and white as shown here by Miroslava. She completes her do with pointy black shoes. It is the same pair which she wore with the leather skirt you saw before. A long slit in front helps the petite look taller.
Clara Alonso and Heather Depriest are the stars for the Guess by Marciano spring-summer 2014 campaign. The duo sizzle in bronze makeup and bouncy waves in the images taken by Hunter & Gatti. This latest collection features rich and bright floral prints, sexy lace tops and suits brilliantly styled by Martina Nilsson. The shoot would not be complete without the expertise of Hair stylist Paco Garrigues and makeup artist Francesca Tolot. Hair was volumised but made to look effortlessly glamorous. Lips were plush in nude colours and glossy finishes. We love the defined eyebrows and lightly sculpted look of this beautiful duo.
So, what do you think of this Guess by Marciano Spring 2014 collection? Would be perfect for your sizzling hot days? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
