CAIA Jewels: When lush lips are coated with 18k gold (FREE worldwide shipping)

We are in love!

If you’re looking for fun jewelry that won’t break after two Saturdays and something that you can add to your precious collection, check out CAIA Jewels as their fabulous fun designs are available in 18k gold or silver. We really believe in buying pieces that can be part of a quality collection which can be worn over a long time and be matched with new things as they come in.

The pieces are bold and fun yet precious thanks to the gold plating and silver. We can already imagine pairing these with classic blue jeans, a crisp white shirt and a pair of pointy heels (Louboutin or not!). Or a white blazer and black cigarette pants with studded boots. And yes, the LBD would be too easy to match. The possibilities are endless!

CAIA Jewels which is based in Los Angeles was created by Chiara Ferragni. “Caia Jewels is a line that will always be close to my heart and it’s also why I decided to name it after the nickname I was given as a child and the name CAIA,” says Ferragni.

Our favourite is the lips which you can see in their collection that includes bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings. The 25-piece jewelry collection was designed by Ferragni herself who says “the lips collection is a symbol of love and kiss”. Prices range from $89 to $239. They may sound a little pricey but we are loving the 18k gold plate.

And the best part is? You can enjoy free worldwide shipping no matter where you are. Which is why CAIA has made it into the Wondermika International Online Shopping Directory.

We want this like right now! How about you?

A woman’s plastic surgery journey PLUS her before and after transformation

Over the holidays, we’ve found some really interesting news from all around the world. Besides our favourite Brisbanetimes.com.au for which our editor Melati Kamaruddin is fashion columnist, our favourite digital destination is Rocketnews24, a news portal based in Japan. They’ve recently featured a journey of this woman from South Korea who documented her plastic surgery procedures.

We’re not really encouraging anyone to go under the knife to change your looks nor are we judging anyone who chooses to. But it does make us think. How far are we willing to go for beauty? We usually see the before and after shots of plastic surgery transformations, but have we really seen the agony that happens in between?

See the visual journey of this woman who changed her looks completely.

Here is her photo taken before the procedure.

She takes a few last shots before being checked by the surgeon and finally going under the knife.

You can see above how her face is swollen from right after the procedure.

Then a photo is taken after she has healed longer. Swelling can still be seen here.

The surgeon checks her face. It seems that everything is okay.

Finally, this woman now looks like a completely different person!

For those who think that it’s not all about skirts and dresses for this party season, this spread is truly for you. It gives you and idea on how to look incredibly good by wearing pants and shirts – a combo that we usually see at the office. Scroll towards the end for our shopping edit too! designer a-z

Covetique sells authentic, high quality pre-owned luxury items. This is particularly good news for fashionistas who appreciate quality craftsmanship but want to save on spending. With so many online stores selling fakes, knowingly or not knowingly, it’s a relief to learn that Covetique carefully selects the brands and products that they list on the site, checking the quality, age and authenticity of each piece. Furthermore, established major online retailer ASOS owns 30% of the shares of Covetique giving us added confidence.

Party Perfect AccessoriesNothing quite beats lashings of crystals and super soft fur for that quintessential seasonal chic look. Pair clear crystals against darker hues to let their lustrous quality take centre stage.Shop our party perfect accessories here»>

So who’s brilliant idea was it to start Covetique? The company was founded by investment bankers Nicola McClafferty (CEO) and Bobby Devins (COO).

Prior to founding Covetique in 2011, Nicola spent 6 years Venture Capital with Balderton Capital, one of Europe’s largest venture funds behind companies such as Betfair, Yoox and Lovefilm, and more recently Ravensbeck. Nicola began her career as an investment banker in the Intrenet and Digital Media team at Jefferies in London.

Bobby spent over 11 years as an investment banker in London, working for Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Lehman Brothers and Nomura. He focused primarily on consumer, retail and luxury brands, including advising on the Burberry IPO amongst others.

Paris Fashion Week kicked off yesterday and while a small percentage of the fashion elite have touched down in the city to catch the latest collections from Balenciaga and Chanel, the rest of us are left dreaming about a seat on the front row.

But it’s still possible to get your Parisian fashion fix closer to home. London’s Fashion Space Gallery has opened a new exhibition that pays tribute to one of Paris’ most iconic designers. ‘Coco Chanel: A New Portrait by Marion Pike (Paris, 1967-71)’ is a fresh angle on Coco Chanel from the perspective of her close friend and confidant, Californian artist Marion Pike.

Visit to see five stunning large-scale portraits of Coco alongside a beautiful collection of haute couture Chanel pieces. Afterwards, pop round the corner for a browse of the Parisian labels at Liberty before finishing your day with a sunset cocktail on Aqua’s rooftop bar.

And what to wear? Channel the fashion editors and top bloggers descending on Paris with mannish tailoring, elegant gowns and statement accessories. You can get the look by shopping our Parisian-inspired designer pieces, all at discounted prices.

If you think that Covetique is starting to sound like those other consignment stores that you’ve heard or read about before, think again.

Covetique is also a style community.

Because all of their items are pre-loved, there is a unique story behind each item which adds an interesting touch to the shopping experience. The seller shares their story, favourite designers and style in their ‘online personal wardrobe’ which you can follow. It kind of gives you an idea of the woman behind the piece that you’re buying. If you do follow the seller’s wardrobe, you’ll be notified as soon as she uploads a new item to be sold! It just makes things easier as you might already be sharing the same size or style.

Want to be a seller yourself? Sell your hardly worn, valuable designer items to Covetique. If you live in the UK, they provide free pick up. But if you’re not, you can send your items to them. Click on the logo below for info on buying, reselling and shipping. Once they receive your goods, they will arrange for them to be photographed and featured on the website . Once a sale is made, you will be notified immediately and Covetique will transfer your proceeds within 15 business days.

For Wondermika readers, you will be pleased that they ship internationally at a standard rate (£30).

We’re biting our lips right now, thinking about the Hermes scarf and the Chanel pumps.

How about you?
